Men’s Style Guide | Best Dressed at the 2015 Oscars

On February 22, 2015, the Oscars held its 87th award ceremony celebrating the best films of 2014. There were many different categories such as Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director and Best Foreign Language Film. However, there was no BEST DRESSED category! Just like the Golden Globes, celebrities thought outside the box and wore suits that would make them stand out on the red carpet. There were a lot to choose from but these suits were my absolute favourite:

Neil Patrick Harris
Not only was he an incredible host but he was also incredibly dressed. One of the suits that stood out for me was the Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo that Neil wore during the day. I find a lot of men on Bay Street wear grey suits however I personally think it looks better as a tuxedo.

Common
I knew Common for his music but his wow his suit was a stunner on the red carpet. He is wearing a velvet Prada suit with a white-on-white shirt and tie. I have always loved velvet so maybe I am bias? But no matter, I am sure that everyone can agree that this suit stood out. The only thing that was missing from this suit was a pocket square and a pair of cufflinks.

David Oyelowo
Usually I am not a fan of a red suit but Oyelowo’s wine-coloured Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo made me think twice. It is still a classic tuxedo style but he uses different shades of red to showcase some pieces more than others.

Kevin Hart
Yes, he made my list again. I didn’t want to stick to the classics and Kevin definitely went the complete opposite where he inverts the colours of the tuxedo. I personally think it is bold but what do you think? Is it a little too much? Let us know in our comments section!

There were many memorable moments during the Oscars this year with celebrities showcasing their amazing style and I can’t wait to see what is in store next year!
