Not sure what it is, but as soon as the weather starts to warm up it seems like people on the streets are being more carefree as to what they wear. There’s nothing wrong with that since we only have so little months of summer to show off our wardrobe. However, dressing inappropriately and messy is no excuse. So, today we decided to give you our top 5 summer fashion faux pas that will help and remind you which elements of summer fashion you should completely avoid. Last year, our former editor Caley gave you a few of her summer fashion pet peeve…and today we’re just adding new ones to her list!
Exposed Bra Straps
This is one of our biggest pet peeves! When wearing tank or strapless tops the peekaboo bra straps tend to make your outfits look unkept and unappealing. As we look around, it seems as though it is always the ones which look like they have out-lived their usage life that are being exposed. Do yourself a tremendous favour – once the straps start to fray – buy a new one or don’t wear that one out!
Exposed Undies
We all at one point jammed to the “the thong song” but it doesn’t mean that you have to show it off too. Yes, we’re all guilty of this and sometimes we can’t help it – so, note to self – when you’re bending down just fix your top and pull your pants up or just do a half squat to avoid showing your frilly undies which you decided on throwing on that day.
Wrong Colour Undergarment
This is a given unless you’re doing it on purpose to bring attention to yourself by showing off your assets. There are two things that you need to avoid – one wearing white pants with either a bright or printed undies! Just tacky! Two, is wearing a white see-through top with black bra! Might as well just wear your undergarment in public!
Mixed Seasons
Think about how your feet might feel if you wear these furry boots in the humidity…? Yup, hot and sweaty…definitely not comfortable at all!
Flip-Flops
I’m all for wearing flip-flops at the beach, in the house, gardening or just simply walking around especially just to give your feet a break from being squished inside a pair of shoes. However, the one thing that I do not think is appropriate – is wearing it in the office. If your feet needs a break in the office put on sandals or flats!
