Summer is upon us and I can’t wait for the days of patio drinks, long walks to the ice cream parlour, and long drives with the top down listening to NSYNC (of course the greatest boy band to ever grace the face of this earth).

Doing all these awesome summer activities can take a lot of energy; and with so much to see and explore this summer, you will have to curate different outfits for each special summer night. We have compiled some summer essentials that will making putting together an outfit a breeze.

Beater Sunglasses

Even though I live for the likes of Gucci and Prada when it comes to a pair of good shades I also love, love, love a good bargain. Ask anyone who knows me! My favourite place to shop for a pair of beaters is at the thrift store, they have various styles of glasses that pair well with almost any outfit for the summer. The reason I think beater sunglasses are an essential part of a summer wardrobe is for the simple fact that it replaces having to use a pair of expensive glasses, especially on the beach where they can be lost, stolen or scratched. If you’re anything like me, you get anxiety when a precious possession is lost, so I find using a pair of cute inexpensive ones allows you to have your cake and eat it too!

Summer Bags

This summer is going to be jam-packed with adventures! So, how do you keep on your toes when there is an adventure at every turn? A good summer bag to keep all your essentials in; I am talking sunscreen, body mist, and a bathing suit. You never know when you’ll have an unexpected trip to the beach so you might as well be prepared.

Shorts

Shorts are an essential part of any person’s wardrobe. I usually gravitate towards jean shorts because they pair nicely with with a cool graphic tee and a pair of vans, giving a cool casual vibe. Also, the more ripped the better!

Palazzo Pants

They are comfortable, dressy, casual, light, and don’t make sure skin feel like it’s gasping for air. What’s not to love about this style of pant? This is a trend that has made its way back into our lives and we are not mad because they are probably the most comfortable pair of pants you will own this summer!

Linen Dresses

I love summer especially after a cold winter, don’t get me wrong, but I hate feeling overly hot and sticky. Linen dresses are the answer to combating the heat this summer. They are easy breezy to put on and can also be paired with your favourite sneakers for a casual day look.
